The 9' x 9' Neil Peart Drum riser. I actually build one for my Rush tribute project. Unfortunately due to the size and weight to make it strong enough to handle the weight and vibration of the drums, I did not make it rotate. Nevertheless here it is.

The drum riser consists of 12" x 2" floor beams, 3/4 inch plywood on top to handle the weight and vibration and 1/2 inch plywood on the bottom for stability. The riser is divided into 4 parts that interlock with each other when joined and have guide bolts that also lock in place to ensure stability and no separation. Cosmetically it is covered with a black felt material that is simply to make it look nice, and finished with black paint and metal trim to enhance the edges. I also built in permanent handles that you cannot see once assembled to help make it easier to move each of the 4 individual sections. Once lifted, put it on a wheel dolly and away you go. If you would like the plans to build this riser, I have put together a simple step by step guide to get you started. Send me a donation and I will send you the files within 24hrs. These plans will get you started, but am currently working on a complete set of plans from start to finish for you guys.

I don't have a price attached, but any donation helps to cover the time and cost putting these plans together - plus my experience building it. Feel free to reach out to me if you need help! (please allow at least a day to respond to emails )

(Drum Riser Lite) The riser plans are a frame by frame tutorial on how to get started, measure your octagon and how to cut your pieces. I'm currently working on a much more detailed set of plans that will have instructions from beginning to end, including finishing work and anchor tips for your hardware.

Be prepared to spend about $1200 on supplies and a few weekends tied up building it. Not a task for the "in a hurry" crowd. Take your time and enjoy the build. My current plans will get you started and make it much easier for you. I already worked out the bugs. These plans are how I build it - YES - some people may have a better way, but this worked for me, and it turned out awesome.

(Drum Riser Full) The more detailed set is in the works (actually being re-done even better - so I appreciate your patience. Good Luck and send me your picks once complete and I will post your photos on my site.
